Crews plan to put the final coat of sealant on our parking lots Wed. (Aug. 13) or Thu. (Aug. 14). This will need 24 hours to cure, so the lots will be closed during that time. Painting is scheduled for Fri. (Aug. 15), which also means no traffic in our tennis court, bus garage, and main lots that day.
✅ Parking will be available on 11th St. & 6th Ave.
Asphalt company schedules are always fluid and very weather-dependent, so we’ll share any updates or changes between now and Wednesday. Thank you for your patience and flexibility—we’re excited to have this project wrapped up soon!

Fall sports are here! 🏈🏐🏃♂️🎾 Football, Volleyball, Cross Country, Cheerleading, and Tennis are officially off and running with their first practices of the season. 🚧 Parking Lot & Traffic Flow Update 🚧
As part of our summer maintenance, we’re seal-coating and repairing our parking lots and service road. With this work, we’re also rethinking traffic flow to improve student safety.
One key change: the drive lane around our main lot will reverse direction. Morning bus drop-off will shift to the west side of the building, while afternoon pickup will stay in front of the school. No vehicles will use the bus lane closest to the building during drop-off or pickup.
We’ll also be adding designated student drop-off/pick-up parking spots near the building. These updates will take place over the next few weeks as repainting is completed.

USC Parking Lots Closed for Maintenance July 30–August 1
United South Central Schools will be closing several parking areas this week for scheduled maintenance. On Wednesday, Thursday, and Friday (July 30–August 1), the main parking lot, service road, bus garage area, and tennis court lot will be closed for seal coating.
During this time, on-street parking will be the best option. In coordination with the City of Wells, temporary on-street parking will be available along 11th Street and 6th Avenue to help accommodate visitors and staff.
We appreciate your patience and cooperation as we complete this necessary maintenance work.

📣 REMINDER: June School Board Meeting
The United South Central School Board will hold its June meeting on Tuesday, June 17th at the Kiester Community Center. The meeting begins at 7:00 PM, and all community members are welcome to attend. We hope to see you there!
2025 Minnesota Class A State Champions
The welcome home parade for the softball team will be down Main Street and back to the school at 11:00 PM tonight. Pack the streets and welcome home your STATE CHAMPIONS!

It's State Championship Day for your USC Softball team! The girls will take the field at Jane Sage Cowles Stadium on the campus of the University of Minnesota for a 6:30pm clash with Badger/Greenbush-Middle River.
If you are planning to be in attendance, please make note of the following:
-Review the spectator guide for the State Tournament, particularly the info specific for Jane Sage Cowles stadium, what you are allowed to bring in/out, parking, as well as fan behavior expectations. You can find the guide here: https://www.mshsl.org/sites/default/files/2025-05/2025-softball-spectator-guide.pdf
-Reserved seating that was purchased gets you your seat for the USC game ONLY. You may go to the Stadium sooner, but will need to remain in general admission or standing room only until it's time for our game as other schools have also purchased the same seats for their respective games. They will vacate when their game is done, and you may then proceed to your seats.
-WEAR RED. It's a Rebel 'Red Out' and we want our outstanding fanbase to make a statement at Jane Sage!
-Enjoy the experience. This has been an incredible ride, and we get one last chance to see these kids take the field and bring home some hardware.
