Students created "cookies" using the traditional recipe and a modernized version. Thank you to USC's Education Foundation for funding this engaging lesson on medieval cooking and culture!

USC Student Government is sponsoring a food drive November 18-27 in support of communities and Hunger and Homelessness Awareness Week! Each grade level will have a designated spot for their food donations and the grade level with the most donations will win an awesome prize! We have also included a list of items that are typically most needed at food banks, but all donations are welcome.
Next week is American Education Week, and the 9-12 Student Government has created some fun dress-up days to celebrate! All students and staff are welcome to participate next week.
We're looking forward to Thursday nights performance to see what Director Parker Haug and the USC Bands have been working on to start the school year! Please join us at 7:00pm in the High School Auditorium for a great night of music.

As a final dress rehearsal, Dorothy (Emma J.), Scarecrow (Josh B.), Tin Man (Liam S.), and the Cowardly Lion (Ezra E.) traveled with director Kirstyn Wegner to the Parkview Care Center. There they dazzled residents with songs from the timeless classic 'The Wizard of Oz', the musical showing this weekend in Rebel Country. Enjoy this sneak peek!
A reminder that performances are Friday (11/8) and Saturday (11/9) at 7:00pm, and Sunday (11/10) at 2:00pm in the Auditorium. Tickets can be purchased in advance in the high school office, or on the afternoon/evening of the performance at the door.
Come for one, two, or all three shows! You'll be glad you did. See you there, Rebels!

USC students in grades 5-12 participated in Minnesota's official statewide mock election! This was sponsored by the Office of the Minnesota Secretary of State and the YMCA Center for Youth Voice. Each student received an official sample ballot and voted in federal, state, and local races. USC's results from the presidential race are added to the statewide mock election numbers. Our mock election results include 283 votes for Trump/Vance, 83 votes for Harris/Walz, and 11 third-party votes. Students who led our mock election also participated as election judge trainees in the official election at the Wells Community Center. Thank you to Sam Seipp for allowing this great opportunity for our students!
