After nearly a year of planning, design work, and state permitting, construction has officially begun on United South Central's new transportation facility. The project was initially approved by the School Board in April 2025 and represents a significant long-term investment in the future of our transportation department. Once completed, the new facility will provide adequate indoor storage for our district-owned vans, activity buses, and additional transportation vehicles, helping protect these assets from the elements and extending their useful life for years to come.

This project is possible because of the strong financial stewardship of our transportation program. By continuing to operate transportation in-house rather than contracting with a private company, USC has been able to realize substantial cost savings over time. Those savings have been carefully preserved and reinvested into improvements that directly benefit our students and community. The new transportation facility is a prime example of that approachβ€”providing a fiscally responsible, long-term solution that supports the efficiency, reliability, and sustainability of our transportation operations well into the future.
