On December 2nd, USC students in grades 5–12 presented their holiday band concert in the USC Auditorium under the direction of Mr. Parker Haug. The evening opened with performances by the 5th grade band followed by the 6th grade band. Next, the 7th and 8th grade band performed pieces that highlighted their strengths as musicians. The night included a surprise guest appearance by Mr. Scruggs as the narrator for one of the selections.
The 9th–12th grade band closed the concert with a moving set of selections that showcased both technical skill and musical depth. The students’ talent brought smiles and happiness to the audience. Mr. Neel also made a guest appearance as a narrator for a piece depicting Ebenezer Scrooge’s three ghosts: the Ghost of Christmas Past, the Ghost of Christmas Present, and the Ghost of Christmas Yet to Come. Their performance of these challenging pieces capped off a beautiful evening of music, highlighting the dedication and talent of USC’s band students.
